Registration Guidelines

Registration is open to any individual, groups or entities interested in participating and contributing to the fund-raising efforts for Children's Medical Center.  However, to ensure the safety of ALL participants and event volunteers, the following guidelines apply to EVERYONE:  
 
- Participants 17 and younger must have their Guardian sign a copy of the Wavier Form, which must be presented at packet pick-up to receive a participant ID bracelet, stage number, timing chip, and sponsor gift bag.  A copy of the form is available on this website for download.

- A parent or adult guardian must accompany participants 17 and younger at all times. The maximum ratio of adult-to-child is 1:3.   

- The minimum age of a participant is 10 years old in the calendar year of the stage.  For the 2008 TX TOUGH Bike Stage, riders must turn 10 before January 1, 2008.

- All participants in any stage must raise the $300 minimum pledge and submit it prior to annual November 15th deadline. Failure to submit the minimum pledge by the deadline will prohibit participation in the future tour stages the following year until delinquent pledge donation is received in full.

- All participants must submit a signed Waiver Form at a packet pick-up to receive a participant ID bracelet, stage number, timing chip and sponsor gift bag. A copy of the form will be available on the event website for download.  An example of the form is provided in the Appendix section.
 
- Participants must obey all Law Enforcement Personnel, TX TOUGH Tour Officials / Marshals and Volunteers associated with the event stages.

- All participants in the Bike stage must wear an approved bicycle helmet in compliance with the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission Safety Standard.  The participant’s helmets and bicycles must be checked prior to starting the event by a certified technician at an Official TX TOUGH Tour Retail Partner.  Equipment checks will also be available during packet pick-up and prior to the start of the bike stage.

- During the Run/Bike stages, ALL participants must obey State and local traffic laws.

- Headphones, cell phone, hand radios and similar audio devices are not permitted while participating in any TX TOUGH Tour stage.

- Equipment and accessories attached to a bicycle or used while running that transport pets are not allowed during tour stages. This includes, but is not limited to, bicycle trailers, push joggers, tag-along or trail-a-bike products, and child carrier seats.

- Riders are not allowed to transport animals during any stage of the tour.

- Inline skates (Rollerblades) are prohibited.
